Anger & rage can have serious consequences if they’re not controlled. We all get angry from time to time. Anger is an emotion that is just a part of life. Problems start when that anger becomes more frequent, more violent and uncontrollable.

What can you do about it? First, learn more about your anger. Start writing down, or taking some mental notes and try to determine what is triggering the anger. Are there certain times, certain people, places or events that cause the rage? Try to be as specific as possible. Determining a pattern will be very helpful to a doctor, therapist, friend or family member that is trying to help you.

Is stress a factor in your anger? Stress at home, at work, financial stress, school stress…all these can lead to anger. You know, there is a saying…“there are no stressful situations, only stressful reactions to normal situations”. At first glance, that sounds silly. But once you think about it a little, there is a lot of truth in that statement. What you perceive as stressful, might not bother the person next to you at all? It’s very important to get a good handle on where the anger and stress starts.
